The state of Punjab takes pride in being rich in culture and festivals. It is a multi-cultural state and so is its festivity. Fairs, feasts and festivals are a part of Punjabi culture. Celebrated with great fervour, these festivals in Punjab bring large volume of tourists to the state.

Hola Mohalla

Hola is descended from the Hindi word (halla) which means (a military charge) and the word Mohalla endures for a planned parade or a military column. The word (‘Hola Mohalla’) thus endures 'the indict of a military.
 

The fiesta commences for seven days, comprises of tenting out, and delighting different shows of fighting bravery and prowess, followed by poetry, kirtan and music. For serving Food, visitors sit down on the floor in precise rows known as (pangats) and eat vegan Langars offered by the volunteers. The fiesta terminates with an extended, army-style parade close to the (Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib), 1 of the 5 most blessed places in (Sikhism).
 

The occasion was raised by (Guru Gobind Singh), the 10th Sikh Guru. Guru Gobind Singh was in the middle of combating Hills Rajput and Aurangzeb, (Mughal Emperor), and had lately established Khalsa Panth combating force. On (22nd February 1701), Guru Gobind Singh commenced a new custom by managing a date of scorn encounters and poetry competition at the Holgarh Fort.


Patiala Festival

This festival commenced in 2003 below the sponsorship of Heritage Society of Patiala. This festival is feted every year and also decorates the face of this city. This festival is celebrated in February, and offers uplifting for all the art and music lovers of this city.
 

Fiesta is a Cultural and an art show. The things to see of the fiesta has to be heard, savored and seen to be understood. These comprise the crafts fair or the craft Mela, which is held at the Art Gallery of Sheesh Mahal. This is one of the biggest art fair held here. More than over 150 artisans exhibit their unique art in this festival for 15 days. Not only does this festival respect architectural art forms but also various dance forms.


Holi

The festival of Maghi Mela or Holi is structured to memorialize a scuffle fought in the year (1705-06) by (Guru Gobind Singh) versus the Mughals. This fiesta lasts for 3 days and commences on the eve of Makar Sankranti.
 

The multicolored fiesta of Holi (Phalgun Purnima) commences in the month of February or early March. The fiesta of Holi has a prehistoric derivation and fetes the victory of good deed over bad deed. The multicolored fiesta bridges the communal gap and refurbishes the charming relations. On this eve, people embrace and wish everybody.
 

The fiesta of colors, Holi is celebrated all across the state of Punjab with affluent decorations at frantic shops that creates a colorful ambiance. Dazzling colors of colored powders also known as Gulal and amber fill the atmosphere and groups wait for their turns in bucketing color water above each other. Kids take unusual pleasure in pertaining colors on every one and flinging water balloons on passers-by.


Punjab Heritage Vintage and Car Festival

Punjab Heritage Vintage and Classic Car Drive intended to endorse the affluent heritage sites across the state of Punjab in apt atmosphere of sun-drenched frost weekends.
 

This festival started in the year 2009, with the support of (PHTPB).This is a yearly event that highlights heritage buildings and monuments giving an option to revive the colorful period of the ancient era.

Maghi Mela

Maghi Mela is prearranged to celebrate a conflict that crusaded in the year (1705-06) by the Sikh guru Guru Gobind Singh in the opposition of the Mughals. Maghi Mela endures for 3 days on the eve of (Makar Sankranti), (January).


Celebration

On the very 1st day, all the worshippers take a shower in the holy (Muktsar Tank) - which is said to be the puddle of recovery. The 2nd day commences of the holy procession to all the 3 sacred mounds, namely, Mukhwanjana Sahib Rikab Sahib and Tibbi Sahib And (Rikab Sahib).It is the same place where Guru’s Gobind Singh’s stapes had broken down.


Folklore

It is believed to be the final battleground of (Guru Gobind Singh) that essayed to be the most crucial conflict in the martial History of Sikhs. Factually the name Rikab Sahib means “the puddle of deliverance". The (40 Sikh warriors) who were opposed to death on this ground in opposition with the (Mughal Empire) more than 300 years ago are commemorated with prayers.
