Overview

Panj Takht Sahib is one of the five takhts of the Sikhs, the seat of highest temporal authority for the Sikhs. It is here that the decisions for the welfare of entire Sikh community are taken. It is located in the city of Amritsar in the state of Punjab in India. The five Takhts are symbolic of the five spiritual and temporal seats of the Sikhs. The other four Takhts are: Sri Patna Sahib ji, Sri Akal Takth Sahib ji, Takth Sri Damdama Sahib, and Sri Hazur Sahib ji. Panj Takht Sahib was built by the sixth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Hargobind Singh ji in the year 1606. It is situated on a raised platform in the Sri Harmandir Sahib ji complex, which also contains the Golden Temple. The complex also houses the Sri Akal Takth Sahib ji, which is the highest seat of the Sikhs, which means "Throne of the Timeless One."

 

The Panj Takht Sahib is open to all Sikhs. However, only those who have been initiated into the Khalsa order can enter the Sri Akal Takth Sahib ji. The main aim of the Panj Takht Sahib is to promote unity and brotherhood among the Sikhs. It is also a place where the Sikhs can voice their opinions on various issues. The significance of Panj Takht Sahib lies in its being the site of the gurudwara, a place where the Sikhs come to pray and worship. It is also the site of the Akal Takht, the supreme court of the Sikhs. Panj Takht Sahib is also the site of the Sri Harmandir Sahib ji Gurudwara, the most sacred of all the Sikh shrines, also known as the Golden Temple.

 

Panj Takht Sahib Tour is one of the most important pilgrimage tour for all Sikhs. Every year, hundreds of thousands of Sikhs come to Amritsar to pay obeisance here. It has a very high historical value to as it was here that the sixth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Hargobind Singh ji, was crowned. It was also here that the misls were formed. Overall, this tour takes you to a great journey to deeply understand Sikhism as a faith and its great importance both religiously and historically.

Itinerary - Option: 1
 
Day 01: Arrive Amritsar (By Flight)
You arrive at Sri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport Amritsar where our representative will greet you and escort you to the hotel listed by us for a check-in. After relaxing and refreshing for a while at the hotel, you can get ready to pay a holy visit to Sri Akal Takht Sahib ji and also participate in the prayers at Golden Temple, a.k.a., Sri Gurudwara Harmandir Sahib ji. Don’t forget to eat the langar at the largest kitchen of the world where nearly 50,000 to 1 lakh people being served food until full at no cost. Return to your hotel to retire for the day at the hotel for staying overnight. 
 
Day 02: Amritsar
Start your day afresh with the breakfast and get ready for the local city tour of Amritsar. Visit the very famous Jallianwala Bagh which was a prime witness to the biggest sikh massacre in 1919 at the hands of British. There is a museum hosting a gallery and huge collection of artefacts dedicated to the martyrs of this massacre. You can now proceed to the Gurudwara Sri Tarn Taran Sahib ji and take a holy dip in the largest sarovar of all Gurudwaras. In the evening, you have the opportunity to witness the glorious closing ceremony at the very famous Wagah Border. Return to your hotel to stay overnight and relax. 
 
Day 03: Sri Anandpur Sahib ji- Bhatinda 
Once you are done with the breakfast and morning rituals, let’s get ready to take a ride towards Gurudwara Sri Anandpur Sahib ji located in the Rupnagar District/Ropar. The name Anandpur itself means “the city of bliss.” From here, continue your journey ahead towards Bhatinda. Upon reaching Bhatinda, you can head straight towards Takht Sri Damdama Sahib ji. Stay overnight at Bhatinda. 
 
Day 04: Sri Damdama Sahib ji - Sri Anand Pur Sahib ji(260 Km/ 5 Hrs) Chandigarh (75 Km/ 2 Hrs)
Start your day with a morning breakfast and drive to Sri Anandpur Sahib ji. Upon reaching there, you can make a visit to the Sri Kesgarh Sahib ji and Sis Ganj Gurudwaras. Later in the evening, it is time to proceed towards Chandigarh where you will have your dinner and spend your night at the hotel in Chandigarh. 
 
Day 05: Chandigarh - Patna (By Flight)
Wake to another fine morning with a scrumptious breakfast in Chandigarh from where you will later take your flight to Patna. You will be greeted by our representative at the Patna Airport. Check-in to the hotel and make yourself comfortable after which you can move head on your journey to visit Gurudwara Takht Sri Patna Sahib ji. Return and retire for the day to stay overnight at the hotel. 
 
Day 06: Patna - Hyderabad (By Flight)
Start your day with routine morning rituals after which you will head towards Patna Airport to catch a flight to Hyderabad. Upon reaching Hyderabad, you will be escorted by our representative to check-in to the hotel listed with us for dinner and overnight stay. 
 
Day 07: Hyderabad - Sri Hazur Sahib Ji (320 Km/ 4-5 Hrs) via Bidar
In early morning, you will be driven towards Gurudwara Sri Hazur Sahib ji which is also called Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Abchalnagar Sahib ji. This is one of the most famous sacred places in Sikhism located near Nanded district. It is a 4-5 hour on-road trip. En-route, you can find and stop at Guru Nanak Jhira Sahib ji in Bidar, Karnataka. Enjoy your dinner and make yourself comfortable at the hotel or stay at the Gurudwara itself at night. 
 
Day 08: Sri Hazur Sahib Ji
For the entire day, you can visit all the nearby temples and gurudwaras and return to your hotel or Gurudwara to relax overnight. 
 
Day 09: Sri Hazur Sahib Ji – Hyderabad - Depart
Drive back to Hyderabad to take your flight back home. 
 
Itinerary - Option: 2
 
Day 1: Arrive Mumbai - Nanded
Reach Mumbai airport where you will be greeted by our representative and escorted to the hotel listed with us. Freshen yourself up and relax a bit before you board the flight to Nanded where you will stay overnight at the hotel. 
 
Day 2: Nanded 
Wake to another beautiful morning at Nanded with a fresh cup of tea before starting for a visit to the 1st Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Abchalnagar Sahib ji, a.k.a., Sri Hazur Sahib ji near the banks of River Godawari. This is the place where the tenth Sikh Guru and his mighty horse Dilbag rose to their heavenly abode. You can enjoy the mesmerizing Kirtan here for their entire and participate in the Langar at this truly divine place. You can also visit the nearby gurudwaras to include Gurudwara Shikar Ghat, Shri Heera Ghat, Shri Banda Ghat, and Shri Nagina Ghat. Get back to your hotel for dinner followed by overnight stay. 
 
Day 3: Nanded 
Following the breakfast, it is time to get ready and drive towards Gurudwara Nanak Jhira also known as Sri Guru Nanak Jhira sahib ji which is nearly a 96 kms drive via road. This holy place is dedicated to the 1st sikh Guru Sri Guru Nanak Sahib ji and was built in the year 1948. You will be sure to get mesmerized by the brilliant Sikh architecture highlighting the true beauty of this place. After having enjoyed the Langar at the Gurudwara, you can return back to the hotel for retiring to bed and to stay overnight. 
 
Day 4: Nanded - Mumbai - Patna 
In the morning, you will be received by our representative at the Mumbai Airport to escort you to the hotel in Mumbai from where you will board the flight to Patna. Here, you will be once again received by our representative who will take you to the hotel for check-in. After a brief period of rest at the hotel, you can schedule your visit to Gurudwara Shri Patna Sahib ji which is the birth place of the 10th Sikh Guru Shri Guru Gobind Singh ji. There is also a museum full of relics that belonged to Sikh Gurus inside the gurudwara premises. Stay overnight after having your dinner.  
 
Day 5: Sri Patna Sahib Ji
Post breakfast in the morning, you have time to enjoy the Hymes and chants at the Sri Gurudwara Patna Sahib ji after which you can prepare for your next visits to nearby gurudwaras to include Gurudwara Sunar Toli, Maini Sangat, Gurudwara Sri Guru Ka Bagh, Gurudwara Sri Ghai Ghat. Retire to your hotel bed to stay overnight. 
 
Day 6: Patna - Delhi
After you had your breakfast, you will head towards Patna Airport from where you will board the flight to Delhi. Our representative will pick you from the Delhi Airport and escort you to the hotel for check-in. After resting for a while at the hotel, you are now ready to visit Gurudwara Shri Bangla Sahib ji in Connaught Place and Sis Ganj Gurudwara in the very famous Chandni Chowk market. You are lucky to enjoy the most famous chats of old Delhi which is just opposite to the landmark Red Fort. Enjoy your stroll at this more than a century old market and do shopping at your will. From your remaining time, you can take your time off to enjoy the nightlife of Delhi, the capital of India and later retire to your hotel to take rest and stay overnight. 
 
Day 7: Delhi - Chandigarh
After your morning breakfast, you will make your way to the Delhi Airport to board a flight to Chandigarh. Check-in to your hotel and stay overnight at Chandigarh. 
 
Day 8: Chandigarh - Sri Anandpur Sahib Ji - Ludhiana
Following your scrumptious breakfast, you will be driven to Sri Anandpur Sahib Ji, which is considered as the holy city of bliss 95 kms from Chandigarh to visit the very famous Takht of Gurudwara Shri Keshgarh Sahib ji. This is the place where Khalsa was born. Stay overnight at your hotel in Ludhiana. 
 
Day 9: Ludhiana - Sri Damdama Sahib Ji
Your morning starts with breakfast, and following completion of morning rituals at the hotel, you will now start for an on-road tour towards Bhatinda. Upon reaching Bhatinda, you can make a visit to Takht Sri Damdama Sahib ji. Return back to your hotel at Ludhiana for staying overnight. 
 
Day 10: Ludhiana - Amritsar
After waking up fresh in the morning, it’s time to drive towards Amritsar to visit the Golden Temple. In the evening, you can actually participate in the closing ceremony of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji at the Golden temple. Get back to hotel for dinner and stay overnight at Amritsar.  
 
Day 11: Amritsar
Start your day with local tour of Amritsar City. You can visit to Jallianwala Bagh known for the massacre full of atrocities carried by the Britishers and later proceed towards Tarn Taran to take a holy dip in the sacred waters. In the evening, become a witness to the brilliant closing ceremony by our Jawans at Wagah Border. Return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay at Amritsar. 
 
Day 12: Amritsar – Delhi 
Your tour concludes with a flight to Delhi from where you can continue heading towards your final destination.
